Chettinad Chicken cooked in a claypot

    January 12, 2021 /

One of the most exciting ways of exploring and learning more about a region is through its regional cuisine. I cooked Chettinad Chicken in a claypot, an affair that I have been longing for a long time. It turned out to be delicious and I'm currently obsessing over everything about it... the aroma, the texture and the excitement of cooking in a claypot.

Homemade spicy Chicken 65 for today’s lunch

    January 5, 2021 /

Getting into the Chennai groove with a homemade spicy Chicken 65 for today’s lunch. I made two variations of it – with and without gravy. This is probably the closest any of my blogposts have gotten real-time! My last blogpost was kind of very long as I belted my heart out into how we have settled down in Chennai. The behind-the-scenes activities started in April 2020 and we moved into our home in Diwali. We finally felt at home by New Year’s eve… all of these culminating in a long emotional blogpost. The header image showed a meal that I had cooked a few days earlier, in the manner of…

Asha Bhosle | Cooking With Her & Sharing Her Chicken Keema Recipe!

    March 26, 2013 /

Asha Bhosle is more than a legend to me. But at this hour, all I can say is that the legend cooked. She cooked for us. I tasted her cooking. I learnt some of her precious recipes. I cooked for her, or am I imagining things in my head? I did hear her sing. I sat with her. I talked to her. And the picture below belongs exclusively to me! I did have the honour to spend almost a day with Asha Bhosle, the legendary singer of Bollywood whose career has spanned over the last six decades. Entering the Guinness World Records for the most single studio recordings, recording up…

Tantuni in JLT | A Taste Of Turkish Street Food And Another Blog Giveaway!

    January 26, 2013 /

I got an invite from a strange but sweet sounding restaurant called Tantuni the other day. ‘We’re a newly opened Turkish fast-food restaurant… Our concept is a traditional Southern Turkey street food cuisine called Tantuni. The restaurant is named after this dish also… I can assure you that the Tantuni rolls are quite tasty and addictive since we brought the chefs from the main source, South Turkey… The taste has been approved by the Turkish community here and they claim it tastes just like how it’s meant to taste in Turkey.’ Yes, you’ve guessed it right. I’m obsessed with street-food and I was on my way to Tantuni.  What is…
