Quique Dacosta | When Food Becomes An Enigma

    January 24, 2016 /

Will I go back to it? Will I recommend it? For now, one thing is certain, this is a first of a kind of a dining concept…

Bateaux Dubai | #FoodPorn Along The Dubai Creek

    February 20, 2014 /

Food shot first (above), then the venue (below). This is my outrage against the ‘Fancy French Chefs Want to Ban Food Porn Photos From Their Restaurants’. How else can I share the ‘experiential dining’ that this beautiful glass boat gliding (not sailing) the waters of the Dubai Creek? Much to the annoyment of my fellow diners, I do unashamedly boast myself as the ‘foodstagrammer’ and I do click pictures of the food till it gets cold. In my defense, I will say, I don’t ever use flash in a restaurant, lest it disturbs other diners and even a child knows how difficult it is to make the food look delectable…

    December 23, 2013 /

A foodie’s diary in the historical city of Prague in December… and a Christmas winter wonderland thrown in! The December issue of BBC GoodFood ME carried an article of mine which traces out my culinary journey of Prague - from street food to fine-dining and all the way to the Christmas markets to an exclusive restaurant that I had visited while I was in Prague. Do read though!

A Culinary Journey of Istanbul | From Street Food To Fine Dining

    December 17, 2013 /

Where do I begin? On the streets of Istanbul? In cafeterias? Or in restaurants? If it is a restaurant, how expensive do you want it to be, or how cheap? Or perhaps one of the random alleys tucked somewhere in the city? Istanbul is definitely a place for foodies. The culinary heritage is reflected by the various influences that has shaped Istanbul’s history. There is a lot of influence of Ottoman Cuisine which itself is a fusion of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Balkan cuisines. As Wikipedia describes – Turkish cuisine varies across the country. The cooking of Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir and rest of the Aegean region inherits many elements of Ottoman…

    June 3, 2013 /

Win a romantic dinner giveaway for a couple from Thiptara  I’ve been writing on Thailand in my last few posts and I can only say that I’ve never been so inspired on my travels as I have been on this trip. Apart from writing travel posts loaded with images and food thoughts, I wanted to continue this brilliant journey with my readers in Dubai. I just mentioned this once to The Palace Downtown and they immediately organised this romantic dinner giveaway for a couple from Thiptara, the beautiful Thai restaurant serving the most delicious and the most beautiful Thai food. Beautiful is perhaps not the usual adjective used for food.…
