Yuan In Atlantis | Dim Sum-ing All The Way On A Friday

    February 8, 2014 /

I just came back from a Friday Yum Cha brunch at Yuan in Atlantis and I am still thinking about it. This would be one of those fine dining Dubai brunches (mostly dim sums and what a mind boggling variety of them) that comes at a casual dining price. Priced at Dhs 188/person (why such an unusual figure? 188 is a lucky number in Chinese tradition), one can taste an unlimited amount of the dim sums that are offered in the Menu, plus 4 more pages doling out a selection of steamed items, wok-fried/deep-fried items and salads, rice/noodles and of course some traditional Chinese desserts. Ananta in Oberoi Dubai | The royal recipe of Galouti Kababs

    January 26, 2014 /

“Memories warm you up from the inside. But they also tear you apart.” ― Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore Every one who knows me, knows my love (my family’s love actually) for Galouti Kababs. Galouti Kababs melt me down, always… as the melt-in-the-mouth minced kebabs melt in my mouth! The Galouti always deserved a special post in my blog. With a hands-on experience in a masterclass on how to make real Galoutis and the Dum Pakht style of cooking, I feel that I can finally belt out a melting post full of aroma, while the taste of the kababs still linger on. Chef Dirham, a Galouti expert, took us through this…

Prague On Your Plate | Article In BBC GoodFood ME

    December 23, 2013 /

A foodie’s diary in the historical city of Prague in December… and a Christmas winter wonderland thrown in! The December issue of BBC GoodFood ME carried an article of mine which traces out my culinary journey of Prague - from street food to fine-dining and all the way to the Christmas markets to an exclusive restaurant that I had visited while I was in Prague. Do read though!

Where Can You Go On A Day Trip From Dubai? Part 2

    October 4, 2013 /

A Sundowner at Al Maha, A Full Moon Drumming Session, Chasing the Dolphins And Kicking Some Sand This is the second part of the series, where I chalk out some out-of-Dubai trips that don’t require any overnight stay. Just in case you have the last minute feeling of I wish I could go somewhere. None of them will leave behind holes in your pocket. The first part also notes down a few other great day trip ideas from Dubai. And if you are staying back in Dubai during the oncoming Eid Break, don’t forget to soak in what Dubai has to offer (no, not shopping malls please). Here’s my Connoisseur’s…

Ramadan in Dubai | Where All You Can Eat

    July 10, 2013 /

Special recipes in my blog during Ramadan Today marks the start of the holy month of Ramadan. And during this entire month, I will be sharing special Ramadan recipes, gathered from many signature restaurants of top hotels in Dubai and around the region. I know that many people do not go out during Ramadan and prefer to cook at home. Most would like to cook special dishes, but they don’t have access to these restaurant recipes. Each hotel that I have contacted has graciously sent me the recipes. I have been inspired by Dima Sharif, who has a tradition of posting daily recipes on her blog during Ramadan. This year,…

Chef’s Table At Thiptara | And A Romantic Dinner Invite From The Palace Downtown!

    June 3, 2013 /

Win a romantic dinner giveaway for a couple from Thiptara  I’ve been writing on Thailand in my last few posts and I can only say that I’ve never been so inspired on my travels as I have been on this trip. Apart from writing travel posts loaded with images and food thoughts, I wanted to continue this brilliant journey with my readers in Dubai. I just mentioned this once to The Palace Downtown and they immediately organised this romantic dinner giveaway for a couple from Thiptara, the beautiful Thai restaurant serving the most delicious and the most beautiful Thai food. Beautiful is perhaps not the usual adjective used for food.…
