A culinary travel blog authored by Ishita B Saha featuring Dubai, Kolkata and the world beyond. The blog pens down culinary experiences... with two kids in tow.
Welcome to IshitaUnblogged, my culinary travel blog. What you see above is the original logo from the year 2011 when my blog was born! Much has changed in my world and the world at large since then. Today, more than a decade later, the essence of my sacred blog space still remains the same. It is carved out of love from the deepest of my heart. I hope you will enjoy reading my blog and share with family and friends. ❤️ Ishita

Aam Daal … or Mango Lentil Soup to combat the hot summers ! @pikturenama posted a gorgeous video yesterday and since I had already planned it for our Sunday lunch menu at home today, I thought of retaining the original video where Madhusree shows the steps beautifully ! Anindyo calls me “Pishimoni”, an endearing term for a paternal aunt … so I say to him … my Aam Daal is a lot lighter , because the Bearded Biker ~ “Pishomoshai” likes it that way. Slurping up his aam daal at the end of a meal ~ the “bangal” way 😉!
Celebrating >>> spring, sunshine, sea breeze, sunset, rains, giant yellow hibiscuses, birthday cakes, birthday wishes, friends, family, Ugadi and every thing in life that makes me happy 🌼🌸☀️✨
My sacred morning ~ today and everyday ! The sun , moon, stars, clouds, breeze, birds’ chirping adding different filters each day. ☀️⛅️⛈🌦🌤⭐️💫✨💨🌩
The rains absolutely call for “Alooris”, batter fried potato rondelles. In Bengali, we will say “aar ki chayi?”, meaning what else does one want ? Cha chayi … a cup of hot tea is wanted for sure 🫖!
Happy Birthday to Lil Z ... the little woman in our home holding a canopy of bright sunshine ☀️ and sparkling stars over her head at all times ✨
Hello Sunday ☀️💛🌼!!! Showering in all the love from the sun, moon and stars, clouds and seabreeze, birds chirping (original audio in the reel )... and flowers... and the buzz of the cricket matches coming from afar . Gearing up for the brand new week !!!
May there be education for all... may there be wisdom for all... may there be healing for all ✨💛🌼... my prayers to Maa Saraswati , the goddess of learning .
The joy of little things ... the splutter and sprinkling in my kitchen ✨. Ushering in Chinese New Year 🧧 with s home cooked meal of noodles in spicy sauce, stir fried snow peas and garlic chicken . Enjoy ✨
Gong Hei Faat Choy 🧧 ! Ushering in the Chinese New Year with “longevity” noodles cooked in a spicy sauce sprinkled with sesame, stir fried snow peas and garlic chicken. We are definitely ticking the right boxes with food that one must eat to bring luck and prosperity. Dumplings and spring rolls, associated with wealth, happened last evening. And with the noodles, the longer the strands, the higher the longevity. Creating our wealth first to sustain the longevity!!!
Pondicherry ... a short and sweet family vacation after two years. There were trepidations in my heart and I washed each one of them away as I lit my candle 🕯 in a beautiful church and said a silent prayer ... ”heal the world 🙏🏼”. The waves crashed on my feet and I whispered out to the wind ... it’s high time for all of us to (again) break free. 💛☀️✨
Happy New Year ✨💛🤗! May 2022 be super kind and gracious and loving and joyful and happy and healthy to all!
Merry Christmas to all of you🎄✨🦌🥮🥂💛

An Indian food tour in Old Dubai with Frying Pan Adventures

A delicious way to discover one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods of Old Dubai – Meena Bazaar, is to book into the 4-hour long ‘Little India on a plate’ food tour with Frying Pan Adventures. It's getting to connect to the essence of old neighbourhoods holding its head high amidst the new urban landscape of 2020, which in itself, is a story that needed to be told and celebrated. What do you think?
