An Indian food tour in Old Dubai with Frying Pan Adventures

    September 4, 2020 /

A delicious way to discover one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods of Old Dubai – Meena Bazaar, is to book into the 4-hour long ‘Little India on a plate’ food tour with Frying Pan Adventures. It's getting to connect to the essence of old neighbourhoods holding its head high amidst the new urban landscape of 2020, which in itself, is a story that needed to be told and celebrated. What do you think?

Meena Bazaar At Night | Introducing DubaiUnblogged… Dubai In Instagram

    February 1, 2013 /

IshitaUnblogged blog is text-heavy. I have been toying with an idea of another blog for a long time that will help me to shut my thoughts up – in terms of writing and bringing up all the photos of Dubai that I am incessantly clicking. And yes, while jumping into the new bandwagon, that is called Instagram! DubaiUnblogged, my second baby, unravels Dubai through images and photographs. It will feature lots of hidden gems of Dubai that are crying out loud for attention. Lots of ideas are there and according to many, introducing the blog with only 4 posts is unwise. But I like ‘growing up and growing old’ together with…

Rasgulla Macapuno On TV & Shubho Bijoya to all

    October 24, 2012 /

Rasgullas are made from balls of Chhana/Paneer/Indian Cottage Cheese or Ricotta Cheese and Suji/Semolina dough. Then these soft and spongy balls are cooked in a sugar syrup. The quality of the channa is vital in making of soft rasgullas, as I realised while making rasgullas at home. A few months ago my Rasgullas or Roshogollas was aired on Noor Dubai TV and Dubai One during Ramadan (above video). And whoosh by some sudden act of magic, I got the video in hand today just as I had sat down to write a festive post wishing all of you Shubho Bijoya! If you are hopping into my blog for the first time and wondering…

Things To Do In Dubai | Like A Tourist In My Own City

    July 2, 2012 /

Like A Tourist In My Own City (Once again!) Dubai, my home for almost the last decade, is a quintessential tourist’s haven. It’s a shame that the only thing that comes to mind when one hears Dubai is Shopping. But, walking through the art alleys of Bastakia and the old quarters along the Dubai Creek, watching the sun go down the beautiful and never ending beaches of Jumeirah, catching the stars in a moonlit night over the desert sky… there’s so much more to Dubai. Dubai is a juxtaposition of extremes – the world’s tallest tower to the old Creek where still the Iranian vessels anchor their moors and trade…
