Recipes, reviews, food and travel inspiration
My childhood in Kolkata and setting up homes with S in different places like Kolkata, Colombo, Frankfurt, Dubai (and soon iChen – have shaped our cooking and moulded our taste-buds. Post-holidays, we are on our own food trips at home. Sometimes, we experiment with our newly acquired expertise of the local cuisine fused with our regular cooking. We also follow authentic regional recipes handed down by chefs or people we come across or create new recipes of our own that are eagerly anticipated by family and friends. Coming from Bengal, there is a lot of exploration on Bengali cuisine in our kitchen. It’s a way of tracing back our roots, learning more about food that has shaped both S and my childhood, and initiating our two daughters – the Z-Sisters to their roots. Lady M (our Lady Friday) hails from Bicol, a region in Philippines known for it’s spicy cuisine. Needless to say, we love Filipino food too.

You can read all my published work here, and read more on what media has to say about my blog, listen to me on radio or watch me on TV and other online channels, click here.
Dubai is currently my adopted home and most of the food posts have been juxtaposed against my Kolkata nostalgia or my living experiences in the UAE. In most of my writings, culture, history, recipes, food stories and nostalgia – even about my childhood in Kolkata, unfold amidst the urban backdrop of Dubai. Hence, sometimes I’ve not been able to clearly demarcate between Dubai and Kolkata posts. All blogposts revolve around the following categories – Recipes, Reviews, Interviews, Food Inspiration and Culinary Travel.
Thank you for joining me on my daily food and travel journey on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!

Disclaimer: To maintain transparency and authenticity in this blog, I only write about food and travel stories that inspire me and feel will inspire You, my readers. This blog is still my meditative space, brings me solace and keeps me grounded as this is where it all began… because it connected me to You. Mostly, I write about experiences that I have personally paid for, but there are a few times where I have written about my experiences where I have been hosted (masterclasses or a bespoke staycation). Every blogpost has a disclosure at the end stating whether my family/myself have been hosted or my bills have been self paid or not – if I have been offered any media discounts for my family/myself, or whether a brand that I am writing about, has been a paid collaboration with FoodeMag. For sure, there are no affiliated links for any of the brands that may have been mentioned in any of the blogposts. The subject, story, opinions and views stated in my blog are my own and all images are from my personal album.
